Coming to the Ryman Wednesday, May 29, 2013 – Dispatch. Tickets on sale Friday, February 1 at Noon via our website.
Brad Corrigan, Chad Stokes and Pete Francis met in college, formed Dispatch, and — with no radio airplay, major-label support or significant press coverage — became one of the biggest draws on the live music scene. Each band member sings lead vocals and trade instruments on stage. Their newest album “Circles Around the Sun” was released in August 2012.
Social responsibility has always been a major component of the Dispatch culture. During their June 2011 tour, the band rolled out its Amplifying Education campaign, which focused on educational issues in the U.S. $1 from each ticket sold go to benefit education in each local market, and audience members were encouraged to sign up to volunteer in their communities.
Country superstar Alan Jackson will headline the 5th Annual “Stars Go Blue” benefit on Wed., March 20 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 18 at 10:00 a.m. and are available here. The event is hosted by a local non-profit, The Blue Note Fund, and has been held in March for the last five years in support of Colon Cancer Awareness month. During March, organizations across the nation will place an emphasis on educating the public on prevention and detection. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Colon Cancer Alliance’s (CCA) Blue Note Fund, helping colon cancer patients in need.
In 2010, Alan’s wife Denise was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. “That rocked my world, as I’m sure it does every person who gets a cancer diagnosis,” she explains. “That really brought to my attention the CCA and what the organization does, and more specifically what our local Blue Note Fund does for the Nashville area.”
