Nominations were announced today for Pollstar Magazine’s 23rd annual Concert Industry Awards to be held February 3, 2012 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California. Among the nominees for Theatre of the Year is Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, which was awarded the honor in 2010. Other nominees include Beacon Theatre (New York City), Fox Theatre (Atlanta), Nokia Theatre (Los Angeles), Radio City Music Hall (New York City) and Verizon Theatre (Grand Prairie, Texas). Approaching its 120th anniversary, the Ryman is a proud three-time winner of the award.
“Winning Theatre of the Year, one of the highest honors our peers can bestow upon us, was a thrilling way to kick off 2011. We are humbled and excited to be ending the year with another nomination,” said Sally Williams, Ryman Auditorium General Manager. “The Ryman is committed to offering a diverse lineup of entertainment as evidenced by this year’s shows ranging from The Raconteurs to Paul Simon and from Alison Krauss & Union Station to Aretha Franklin. Going into our 120th year, we’ll continue to make history one night at a time.”
